Horse

The horse is a mammal of the family Equidae. IT comprises a single species Equus caballus, who's numerous varieties are callled breeds.

Horse Sex descriptions

A Mature male horse is called a Stalion

A Stallion used for breeding is Called a Stud

whereas a Stallion which has been castrated (Gelded) is called a Gelding

A mature female horse is a mare

Young horses are known as foals. Male foals are called Colts, Females are called fillies
